تترأس بلادنا الدورة الحادية والخمسين لمؤتمر العمل العربي، الذي تنطلق أعماله صباح السبت المقبل في العاصمة المصرية القاهرة، وتستمر خلال الفترة من 19 إلى 26 أبريل الجاري، بمشاركة واسعة من وزراء العمل العرب، وممثلي منظمات أصحاب العمل والعمال، إلى جانب وفود من 21 دولة عربية أعضاء في منظمة العمل العربية.
وفي هذا الإطار، التقى معالي الدكتور محمد سعيد الزعوري، وزير الشؤون الاجتماعية والعمل ورئيس الدورة الحالية، المدير العام لمنظمة العمل العربية، فايز المطيري، حيث جرى بحث الترتيبات النهائية لانطلاق المؤتمر.
وأكد الوزير الزعوري خلال اللقاء، حرص بلادنا على إنجاح فعاليات الدورة الحالية، مشيداً بالجهود التي تبذلها منظمة العمل العربية في الإعداد والتنظيم، بما يعكس التزامها المستمر بدعم قضايا العمل والعمال في الوطن العربي.
ومن المقرر أن يلقي الوزير الزعوري الكلمة الافتتاحية في المؤتمر، الذي يحضره 18 من أصحاب المعالي وزراء العمل العرب، إلى جانب أكثر من 440 مشاركاً من رؤساء وأعضاء الوفود الحكومية، وممثلي منظمات أصحاب العمل والاتحادات العمالية، وممثلي الأمانة العامة لجامعة الدول العربية، والمنظمات العربية والدولية، وعدد من السفراء والشخصيات البارزة في جمهورية مصر العربية.
وسيتم خلال حفل الافتتاح تكريم 25 شخصية من رواد العمل العربي، تقديراً لإسهاماتهم المتميزة وجهودهم في دعم قضايا العمل والتنمية والإنتاج في العالم العربي.
وتتناول أعمال الدورة محاور استراتيجية مهمة، من أبرزها الاقتصاد الرقمي كركيزة للتنويع الاقتصادي والتنمية المستدامة، في ظل الحاجة المتزايدة لإعادة هيكلة الاقتصادات الوطنية، وتقليل الاعتماد على الموارد التقليدية مثل النفط، والاتجاه نحو قطاعات جديدة توفر فرص عمل نوعية.
كما يبحث المشاركون سبل توظيف التكنولوجيا الحديثة، والتحول الرقمي، والذكاء الاصطناعي، والاقتصاد القائم على المعرفة، لتعزيز النمو المستدام وزيادة القدرة التنافسية للاقتصادات العربية إقليمياً ودولياً.
وسيولي المؤتمر اهتماماً خاصاً بتأثيرات الاقتصاد الرقمي على سوق العمل، لاسيما في ظل اتساع الفجوة المهارية، وظهور وظائف جديدة مقابل اندثار أخرى تقليدية. كما سيتم التطرق إلى أهمية تطوير البنية التحتية الرقمية، وتحديث نظم التعليم والتدريب الفني والتقني، بما يواكب المتغيرات الحديثة، خصوصاً في مجالات البرمجيات، والخدمات الذكية، والتجارة الإلكترونية.

Our country is chairing the 51st session of the Arab Labor Conference, which will commence on Saturday morning in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and will continue from April 19 to 26. The event sees broad participation from Arab labor ministers, representatives of employers’ and workers’ organizations, as well as delegations from 21 Arab countries that are members of the Arab Labor Organization.
In this context, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Al-Zaouri, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and the current session’s chairman, met with Fayez Al-Mutairi, Director-General of the Arab Labor Organization, to discuss the final preparations for the conference’s launch.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Zaouri stressed our country’s commitment to ensuring the success of the current session, praising the efforts of the Arab Labor Organization in preparation and organization, which reflect its ongoing commitment to supporting labor-related issues in the Arab world.
Minister Al-Zaouri is scheduled to deliver the opening address at the conference, which will be attended by 18 Arab labor ministers, along with more than 440 participants, including heads and members of government delegations, representatives of employers’ organizations and labor unions, officials from the General Secretariat of the Arab League, Arab and international organizations, ambassadors, and prominent figures in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The opening ceremony will also include honoring 25 distinguished figures in the field of Arab labor, in recognition of their outstanding contributions and efforts in supporting labor, development, and productivity across the Arab world.
The session’s agenda will cover key strategic topics, most notably the digital economy as a foundation for economic diversification and sustainable development, in light of the increasing need to restructure national economies, reduce reliance on traditional resources such as oil, and move towards new sectors that offer quality job opportunities.
Participants will also discuss ways to leverage modern technologies, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the knowledge-based economy to enhance sustainable growth and increase the competitiveness of Arab economies both regionally and globally.
The conference will place particular emphasis on the impacts of the digital economy on the labor market, especially with the widening skills gap and the emergence of new jobs alongside the disappearance of traditional ones. It will also address the importance of developing digital infrastructure and updating technical and vocational education and training systems to keep pace with current changes, particularly in the fields of software, smart services, and e-commerce.
